Lions Clubs International is the worlds largest secular service organisation, with around 1.4 million members in 203 countries was founded by Melvin Jones in 1917. Australian Lions Clubs are a part of community life, you will find Lions clubs in cities and in the country. The clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of the Association, and the 'We Serve'; motto seen on road signs throughout the country.Membership is open to all people of the community in good standing and is usually by invitation but applications are welcome.
Clubs may either provide service or raise money for their community. Most of the money raised goes back into the community, either directly or indirectly through Local, National and International Projects.

Updates
Thank you everyone
Thanks to the generous support of the community we had a wonderful day. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves and we will see you back next year for the next Beer Can Regatta.
Anglicare HACC Program
Funds from the Regatta in 2009 will go to the Anglicare HACC Program. HACC is a government program that helps community agencies such as Anglicare provide services to frail aged people, younger people with disabilities and their carers. The Beer Can Regatta is looking to provide additional transport for Anglicare to build on the program and to provide transport to enable their clients to access medical appointments and other services.
Last Year's Regatta
Funding from last years highly successful Combined Lions Beer Can Regatta went to the Variety Club to help Variety Club fund their Goanna Park Camp for children in need.
